Located on a hilltop in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, the Rothney Astrophysical Observatory (RAO) is dedicated to expanding our knowledge of the Universe and educating students, school groups and the public about the wonders of Astronomy. The observatory is open once a month to the public for their Open House or Milky Way Night events. During these events they have the telescopes operating and astronomers are on hand to answer all of your burning astronomical questions. Entrance fees are $30/car so we encourage you to carpool!
Is there anything more romantic than gazing up at the stars with your date? The observatory lets you do just that with scheduled times when you and your date can get an up-close-and-personal look at those beauties. Visit the 2017/2018 Public Event schedule for your chance to view the stars here!
