Since 2013, Date Night has been YYC’s go-to guide for quality date nights in #yyc — it’s our goal to save the hospitality industry, support local artists and keep YYC relationships spicy!

The weekly, city-wide Local Date Nights on our platform will feature live virtual concerts, cooking classes and other skills by Calgarian artists + restaurants we love. Join us for the #LocalDateNight and to keep yyc’s local hospitality AND our relationships alive.

Physical distancing is one thing but we won’t stand for social isolation  — we need to think differently and be creative to keep things interesting during this time. We’re up for the challenge!

The #LocalDateNight ‘IN’ is dedicated to showcasing what’s happening in #YYC, who’s making what and how you can access it for a solid date-night at home.

We’re committed to supporting our favourite local restaurant and businesses that provide us so much happiness all year round by showing them a little extra love right now.

This is your one-stop guide for who’s delivering, who has take-out options and wait for it — who is delivering wine, beer and yes, even toilet paper, right to your door.

Helping you whip up something fancy with no fuss, bartenders who can help you shake up the cabin fever blues and spread the good word about the best virtual happy hours in town because date night is NOT cancelled.

We are working with YYC’s restaurant community to bring you the most up-to-date information, fun Instagram takeovers and live concert streams. On top of that, we’ll provide daily updates to new date night ideas at home for everyone whether you’re rolling solo, have a hunny at home, or for your whole family to enjoy.

Each week, we want to bring the city together for a local picnic style date night, from your living room where you can lay out a blanket, order local, drink local and listen local.

Step #1: Purchase a meal from a local restaurant that is providing take-out and/or delivery options (Hot tip: treat yourself to wine and beer from them too, it helps them stay open! )

Step #2: Set the vibe. Lay out a blanket on the floor, light some candles, dim the lights and bring together your loved ones — live or virtually

Step #3: Post a picture of your picnic and shout out your favourite restaurant, bar, brewery or wine shop by tagging #localdatenight @datenightyyc and we’ll amplify the message that they are open by re-sharing with our community

Step #4: Tune in LIVE at 7pm every Saturday on the @datenightyyc IG LIVE feed for weekly live entertainment
