From the Calgary International Beerfest to a Cinco de Mayo Party, here’s what’s up this weekend in YYC.
1. Calgary International Beerfest
May 3rd from 3-10pm & May 4 from 2-10pm
BMO Centre, Stampede Park, 20 Roundup Way SE
Get ready for a night to remember at this year’s annual beer festival. With over 700 beers from over 200 breweries, you’ll be sippin’ on a new batch around each corner.
2. CSSC Bowling Tournament
May 4th from 11am-6pm
National on 10th, 341 10 Ave SW
Bowling? Beers? Star Wars? Three things we love! Grab your pals or enter this event solo for a day filled with fun, laughter and – hopefully – a lot of strikes.
3. Sled in a Can
May 4th from 8pm-2:30am
The Hifi Club, 219 10 Ave SW
Celebrating 13 years of weird, wild, wacky fun, Sled Island is back again this year. Join in on the FUNdraiser this coming weekend featuring multiple bands, DJs, and local comedy acts.
4. Closet Raid Calgary
May 5th from 12-4pm
Bridgette Bar, 739 10 Ave SW
Less waste, more taste. Take your pick through other’s closets, finding new pieces good for multiple seasons, so that you can wear it longer and help a sista’ out by reusing what’s still perfectly good.
5. Cinco de Mayo Party
May 5th from 3pm-12am
Tropical Latin Street Food & Cocktails, 1424 17 Ave SW
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a fiesta of half-priced tequila, $25 buckets of Coronas, and dollar tacos. Yes, you heard us right – ONE DOLLAR TACOS. Purchase your ticket to this event to enjoy live mariachi singer Gisela Romero from 6-7pm and arrive early to secure your table.
