Añejo Restaurant and Tequila Lounge
Located on 4th st, Añejo is the place for Tequila lovers to unite. If you have a tequila sob story you're still getting over-it's time to move on. This isn't your Jose Cuervo special , there is something for everyone including some amazeballs tequila cocktails that will have you screaming for uno mas. Añejo offers over 150 different types of Tequila prepared how you like it ( rocks, shots, snifters, ice bowls). They even offer a Baked Tequila Blanco Mac ‘N Cheese! It creates and cures a hangover all in one. Try some good classics like their Tamales or table side guacamole with a round of margaritas for the full experience. Anejo's taco's are a must, order a tray with crispy red snapper, braised short rib and adobo pork ...drool. Plus we’re slightly obsessed with their sugar skull logo!
Located in Kensington just across from the Bow River, Julio's is a large space that’s perfect for not only date night but also a for a night out with a group of friends. Order the Baja fish tacos or chimichangas, and make sure to get a bulldog too. Never tried a bulldog? It’s a frozen margarita with a corona flipped over into the drink. Sounds strange but is actually delicious! Finish things off with the Mexican fried ice cream. Hey we didn’t call this post the healthy date for a reason!
Salt and Pepper Restaurante Mexicano
They’ve been in Calgary for over 20 years and they continue to whip up the best in authentic Mexican cuisine! They’ve won the Calgary Herald Reader’s Choice Award over 8 different years including 2012. The Ceviche Miramar (lime marinated white fish) is always a good pick, and of course you can’t go wrong with their tacos!
