Blame it on the pumpkin spice, the chill in the air, the comfy knitwear or the candles, but there’s something about Fall that brings on the urge to cozy up at home.
Just in time to transform your home for Fall, the upcoming Calgary Fall Home Show has assembled a group of talented home & décor experts, ready to deliver inspiration for homeowners, renters and aspiring DIY-ers alike for four days only, September 21-24, 2017 at the BMO Centre.
To get your inspiration started, here are four ideas to get your home feeling ready for Fall:
1. DIY décor
Make and create your home on-trend home décor with Calgary's best artisans and makers, all while enjoying complimentary wine tastings and local food samples. Calgary’s own Heart & Swirl and Outside the Shape have curated a unique variety of workshops taking place at the Calgary Fall Home Show. The Workshop Series includes milk painted mountain shelves and handsewn mountain pillows by Needle & Pine, himmelis by Salvage + Bronze, painted wooden paddles by Agnes In August and Heart & Swirl abstract canvas painting with artists Jill Paddock & Kyla Alty.
2. Hygge your home
If you’ve never heard of Hygge, you don’t know what you’re missing. The Danish concept of Hygge (pronounced hoo-gah), means “cozy time,” a lifestyle and design approach that focuses on creating simple, connected living spaces that encourage togetherness, peace and warmth. Drawing on her Scandinavian heritage, Calgary interior designer and renovator Krista Hermanson of Krista Hermanson Design injects elements of Hygge into each of her spaces, aimed at celebrating family & friends and taking time to relax and recharge.

Learn the secrets of the Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up from Calgary’s only KonMari Method Certified organizational and tidying expert Helen Youn, as she shares the one-of-a-kind KonMari approach to organizing and editing your belongings to achieve your ideal lifestyle. et a crash course from Helen on the Urban Barn Main Stage on Friday, September 22 at 3 p.m. and Sunday, September 24 at 2 p.m.
