From the Calgary Fringe Festival to a Tiki Island Night Party, here's what's up this weekend in YYC.
1. Calgary Fringe Festival
August 4th - August 12th
This year’s Fringe Festival is back with over 40 shows to suit all theatrical tastes. Most shows are happening in Inglewood so you can bring your boo out to the ‘hood, check out a few shows, and make a full day date out of it. Performances include a clown performance of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, a Legally Blonde musical, a late night cabaret, and more.
2. Inglewood Sunfest
Seize the Sunfest with your date in the heart of Inglewood on Saturday, August 5th. Activities range from live music and street performers to patios and over 200 vendors selling goods from artisan craft to imported wares.
3. The Plunge
August 5-7th, 12-13th, 19-20th, 26-27th

The Plunge returns to WinSport this summer. Spend your weekend slipping and sliding down this 810-foot, three-lane water slide to cool off. Perfect all day entertainment for the whole family, you can slide all you want for two hours with minimal wait times in long lines. Get a little sporty and bring along a date to race down this giant slide.
4. Nine & Wine at Inglewood Golf Club
August 5th to September 30th
Inglewood Golf and Curling Club, 19 Gosling Way SE
Every Saturday night, join Inglewood Golf and Curling Club for Nine & Wine. The evening includes 9 holes of golf, a glass of wine, a bucket of balls, and group golf instructions with a PGA professional prior to teeing off so you can really impress your date with your skills on the course. Tee times start at 6pm.
5. Tiki Island Night Party
August 6th from 9pm - 2am
National on 8th, 225 8 Ave SW
This August long weekend, join National on 8th for their massive Tiki-inspired rooftop party. With island cocktails from Ricardo’s Hideaway and a mix of club and island hits from Gummi, Drew Atlas, and Erwin, they’ll ensure the vibes keep bumping all night long.
