New Year, New You. This month, welcome 2017 with intention setting, working on your fitness goals, and checking out some of the city's best new date night spots. Here are 26 Things To Do This January to make sure your year starts off on the right track.
1. Book a bike at YYC Cycle

They've rocked Marda and Kensington, and now YYC Cycle is bringing their good vibes and infectious energy down south. Their third studio in Avenida opened its doors on January 2nd and to celebrate, all classes for the opening week from January 2nd to January 8th are just $10. All proceeds will be going towards their GIVE'R charity, the Pawsitive Match Rescue Foundation, so you can break a sweat all while helping out some adorable puppies.
2. Be the Best You in 2017 - Meditation and Goal Setting with Modern + Mindful

Join Calgary's first modern meditation studio on January 6th for an evening of goal setting. Their New Year’s workshop is dedicated to helping you become more accountable to yourself, which is why it will offer a 30 minute meditation followed by 30 minutes of goal setting. Once your goals are set, seal them away in an envelope addressed to yourself, and Modern + Mindful will mail them back to you halfway through the year.
3. The Motorcycle Show

Get your engines revving at The Motorcycle Show which runs the weekend of January 6th. Showcasing the newest line-up of motorcycles, scooters, and ATV's, this expo is perfect for all adrenaline junkies and those looking to upgrade their current ride.
4. Lorna Jane - Move, Nourish, Believe in 2017

If you haven't yet heard of Lorna Jane, they are an Australian activewear line that opened its first Canadian store in Southcentre Mall back in November. To celebrate their official grand opening, they’ll be hosting free fitness classes from High Fitness and Barre Belle, nutrition advice from Dawn Hart, and a vision board exercise hosted by best-selling author and motivational speaker Erin Skye Kelly. Doors open at 8:30am and activities will begin promptly at 9am.

10. Research In The Pub

Sometimes the nerdy date is the greatest date. On January 17th, bring your boo to enjoy an evening of research, free food, and stimulating conversation hosted by the University of Calgary’s Graduate Student Association. On January 26, get ready to put down your phone and join us for 3D Tinder. Each Speed Dating event has 20 single women and 20 single men to connect with.
